So, the era comes to an end, as the Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates prepares to step down from his full-time work responsibilities at Microsoft on July1. Gates has not just been a revolutionary genius, but an exceptional business man as well. For the past 33 years , Gates has easily proved to be the “been there, done that” guy. From coding to creating huge software applications, from promoting innovations to stifling competitors, from a tin shed to a multi-billion dollar empire, there’s a long long list of what some people call as achievements and others call as the Microsoft monopoly.

But one thing which is very clear is Gates gave us all a direction, a direction to move forward, for developers to develop based on a common mass appeal platform and for users to sit back and enjoy the best services on offer. Although the recent Microsoft OS Vista has received severe criticism, Gates can still sit back and feel proud of the heritage that he leaves behind on 1st of July.
